Wendy Yates practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, elder law, and probate. She assists people in developing estate plans to meet their particular needs and wishes regardless of whether their estates are small or very large. She has helped clients with insolvent estates and estates worth millions of dollars. She prepares simple and tax-planned Wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, life insurance trusts, generation-skipping trusts, marital property agreements, general powers of attorney, living wills, medical powers of attorney, guardianship designations and other estate planning documents. She assists people with establishing and managing closely-held family entities, including family limited partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies. She also represents executors, administrators, and beneficiaries in probate proceedings and estate administrations, including family settlement agreements, mediations, litigation, and annual and final accountings. She also represents trustees and trust beneficiaries regarding funding, administering, modifying and terminating trusts. She prepares estate tax returns and annual gift tax returns and counsels clients regarding estate, gift and generation-skipping tax matters. She works closely with clients’ trusted financial advisors, accountants, insurance agents and others to help clients reach their goals.
